This track is about a visit to the Island of Madeira in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. Among other things in this part of the world... food is somewhat of a marvel. There is so much more taste to the things that are grown right in your own back yard. People do things different here. Festivals are the spice of life and everyone gets behind them. The land is beautiful and productive with lush vegetation. Fire works displays are substantial at new years. We are pretty up tight in North America. The line "in the way of progress' comes from a Thomas King book... Green Grass Running water. A true masterpiece.

Frank plays the Trumpet....
Phil turned this song into what it is with the drum explosion.
Zane came up with the idea for the Floydian vocal at the end.
